About

Any transition serious enough to alter your definition of yourself will require not just small adjustments in your way of living, but also a full metamorphosis.

Do you feel overwhelmed by the changes happening in yourself or in others close to you?

Do you want to learn new skills and strategies to improve your overall well-being? If you are willing to be open, honest, and learn more about yourself, my approach could benefit you.

I see you.
I hear you.
I honor, acknowledge, and understand you.

Don’t we all want to be heard and understood?

I think we do. That’s why I take exactly that approach with my clients.

I specialize in working with people going through some of life’s hardest transitions:
  • Pregnancy
  • New Parenting
  • Marital Issues
  • Divorce
  • Recent Illness Diagnosis
  • Spiritual Crisis
  • Impending Death – of a Loved One or Self
  • Grief

Our bodies may age, but our souls are timeless.

Our bodies store the traumas that we have experienced. I will encourage you to listen to the messages, subtle and not so subtle, that you receive. We will work with the past issues and ‘transition’ you into a new healthier life.

Experience

As a board-certified Psychiatric/Clinical Nurse Specialist, I have gained practical knowledge in a variety of hospital, trauma, and care settings. I used my skills in in-patient, out-patient, and private practice settings.

While volunteering with the Sexual Assault Resource Agency and Shelter for Help in Emergency, I helped rape and assault victims transition from trauma back into normal life.

I have also volunteered in classrooms and worked on committees for preschool, elementary, middle, high schools, and college—helping with challenges faced by parents, teachers, school boards, and sports staffs.

As the mother of two now grown children, I’ve been through pregnancy on both sides – as one who experienced the joys and challenges of pregnancy and as a nurse assisting through the pregnancy and birthing processes. I’ve taught prenatal and postpartum exercise and childbirth classes, and acted as doula.

As a Women’s Midlife Services Coordinator at one hospital, I worked with women and their children and partners on a variety of issues:
  • Developmental issues
  • Starting menstrual period
  • Perimenopause
  • Menopause and all of the symptoms
  • Preparing teenagers to leave for college or leaving home for new life
  • Empty nest
  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy
  • New baby
  • Toddler struggles
  • Pre-teen and teenager angst
  • “Sandwich generation” issues, especially caretaking, divorce, remarriage, loss, including preparing for death.

I’ve helped in clean-ups on local trails and rivers, because I believe that nature is important. I believe it is our responsibility to care for the world.

I strongly believe that nature has healing qualities. Don’t take my word for the power of nature. “Earthing,” the practice of using the earth’s energy or “surface electrons,” has been studied and proven to be an effective complement to traditional medicine.

My office has many plants, and I often go for walks with clients or meet at parks. I sometimes assign homework, asking that those I am working with go outside and make connections with nature. I offer Healing Touch (Energy Medicine) to those interested in experiencing that approach.

I am well grounded in both traditional and non-traditional healing and welcome a wide variety of clients. However, I’m not for everyone. I prefer to work with those who want to work on themselves and are motivated to invest in their own healing outside of our sessions.

I hope that’s YOU. Let’s find out.
